Sunset Cove Resort was started in January of 1957 by Loran Fickle. The land was owned by his mother Margaret Wilmarth and his Stepfather Leo Wilmarth. His wife Arlene also became a partner in the business. Back then it started off as a few tent sites and cabins, and later developed into adding more land, annual camping, a general store, an apartment building, and more.
Loran and his wife had three children, Tami, Laney, and Loran II. All of their children have helped run the family business over the years. Currently Loran II and Laney manage the business with their spouses Chris and Suzan and help from the third generation, Hannah, Kyler, Clay and Jade as well as summer employees. Everyone works busy over the summer from park maintenance, running the general store, and dipping our delicious ice cream.
Sunset Cove Resort Spans 30 acres and includes a 7 unit apartment complex, 315 campsites, playgrounds, recreational areas, beach, and general store. The campsites at Sunset Cove can be rented daily, weekly, monthly, or annually.
